Porth Chapel Beach - breaking wavesSpectacular waves breaking on Porth Chapel Beach. Swimming on a day like this is for the serious swimmers only and is definitely not a day for paddling.

Looking West across Pednvounder Beach towards Porthcurno, and the famous Minack open air theatre. At low water on a 'spring tide' it is possible to walk across the sands to Porthcurno.

New Years Day 2006We decided against a swim though! The sea looks tempting but was very cold.



Porthgwarra - A small fishing cove between Porthcurno and Lands End. Have a cup of tea, a sandwich,  and a cake at Mary's hut.

Mousehole - Picturesque fishing village, The Ship Inn and good restaurants.

Lamorna Cove - Small fishing cove, The Wink Pub and cove cafe.

Lands End - Much commercialised now, but well worth a visit - some interesting displays and spectacular cliff top scenery. Firework displays every Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout August.

St Just - Centre of the old mining district, pubs, shops, post office, Co-op.

Pendeen - Geevor and Levant mines, lighthouse and rugged north coast cliff top scenery.

Zennor - Unspoilt village on the north coast with small local history museum and granite church.

St Ives - Famous Tate gallery and beautiful beaches, very popular seaside town and artists colony.

St Michael's Mount - Home of Lord St Levan. Visit the mount by foot at low tide and by ferry boats at high tide.

Penberth Cove - Small unspoilt fishing cove 3/4 mile from Treen.

Minack Theatre - Unique open air theatre with the Atlantic ocean as a back drop. Performances run from May to September with cafe and restaurant open all year round.

Logan Rock - 'Rocking Stone' on the headland accessed from the coastal path at Treen.

Scilly Isles - Scillonian ferry from Penzance harbour, Helicopter from Penzance or the Sky Bus from Lands End airport.

Ancient Granite Churches - at St Levan, Sennen, St Buryan, St Just, and Zennor. Also, ancient standing stones and circles dotted around the area.

Sennen Cove - Beautiful surfing beach, lifeboat station, sandy bay, beach shop and cafe - ideal for children.

Logan Rock Inn - Treen - Good food and beer, all within staggering distance of 'The Quarries'
